23 лютого 2024 року Посли України, Європейського Союзу, Франції, Німеччини, США, Великої Британії, Японії, Туреччини, Республіки Корея, дипломати, представники української громади, міжнародних партнерів та ЗМІ в Душанбе вшанували пам'ять жертв російської агресії, підтвердили солідарність міжнародного співтовариства та віддали шану стійкості народу України у боротьбі за свободу і незалежність.

Посол України Валерій Євдокимов та Посол ЄС Раймундас Каробліс відкрили тематичну фотоекспозицію "Народ України: 10 років стійкості та незламності".

У зв’язку з роковинами початку російської агресії Посольство України спільно з Представництвом ЄС видали Спільну заяву, до якої приєдналися Посольства Французької Республіки та Федеративної Республіки Німеччина в Республіці Таджикистан.

Захід було організовано за підтримки та спільно з Представництвом ЄС і Посольством Французької Республіки в Республіці Таджикистан.

Dear friends,

For a few seconds we were listening to the sounds that lasting for hours reverberate throughout Ukrainian cities every day.

In February twenty-fourteen we were shocked by deaths of civilians in the center of Kyiv, and in some days felt ourselves and the renewed country on the threshold of a great European future.

However, aspirations of Ukrainians to be free appeared a Casus Belli for Russia suffering from imperial phantom pains.

The events unfolded soon seemed completely unreal in the Twenty first century: Russian troops in Crimea, occupation, first Ukrainians killed by Russian soldiers, attempts to seize power in large cities, war in the East of Ukraine…

After eight years of local war and attempts to appease the aggressor, on a cold February morning in twenty-twenty two, all of Ukraine woke up under explosions. Russian tank convoys, the first mass shootings of women and children who tried to escape from the occupiers - just on the roads in Kyiv suburbs.

The war and resistance of the people of Ukraine has been lasting for ten years.

For the last two years, Ukraine has been repelling full-scale Russian attacks, the intensity of which can be compared to the battles of the Second World War.

Thanks to the invincibility of Ukrainians, we have saved the state.

Dear friends, thanks to your support, we are deterring and exhausting the enemy. It is your support that preserves Ukrainian economy and financial system. Special gratitude from the people of Ukraine – for the air defense systems that cover our cities and critical infrastructure with an umbrella. This winter, together with you, we managed to avoid collapse of the energy system.

At the same time, we, diplomats, need to work together to ensure that this support does not weaken.

We cannot allow the world order to be finally destroyed, and 'the right of force' to become decisive in international relations!

Dear friends!

Russia will not end the war and return the occupied territories as a good will.

This can only be done by combining modern effective weapons with courage of Ukrainian defenders, and international influence on the aggressor.

We just want to live peacefully in our homes, in a developed country under democratic laws, raise children and rejoice in their success. And we do not want the war to come to other countries, to other peoples.

That’s why, we can only talk about our common victory.
