On March 9, on the birthday of Taras Shevchenko, the staff of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Tajikistan arrived to the National Library of the Republic, where in a solemn atmosphere, the Charge d'affaires a.i. Viktor V. Semenov and the first secretary of the Embassy Ihor P. Cherinko presented the Director of the National Library Djumakhon H. Faizalizoda with a certificate of honor, which the Embassy of Ukraine noted the successful activities of the Library to popularize the work of the Great Kobzar Taras Shevchenko in Tajikistan.

The National Library of Tajikistan is the largest and most modern in Central Asia, and is one of the largest libraries in the Asian space as a whole.

Last year, in the National Library of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the participation of the Ambassador of Ukraine Vasyl M. Servatyuk, an exhibition of Ukrainian books was officially opened, the centerpiece of which is devoted to the work of Taras Shevchenko.

The stand of Ukrainian literature occupies a prominent place among book presentations from different countries of the world and is in great demand among the readership of Tajikistan.
