On May 18, 2016, the film "Haytarma", dedicated to the tragic events of forced deportation of Crimean Tatars from their historical homeland - Crimea in May 1944 was shown at the Embassy of Ukraine in Tajikistan.
Guests of the Embassy held a moment of silence in memory of victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatars, executed by the totalitarian regime. The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Tajikistan Viktor Nikitiuk announced the statement of the MFA of Ukraine on the occasion of commemoration of the Day of Victims of Genocide of the Crimean Tatar People.
At the conclusion of the meeting the guests of the Embassy listened to the song "1944" by Jamala, People's Artist of Ukraine. The event was attended by the representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora, Tajik public, diplomatic corps and international organizations.
