Repair crews and first responders have been working since last night at the sites of Russian strikes. During the night, 219 attack drones were launched, a significant number of them “shaheds,” along with 25 missiles, 24 of them ballistic. Most of them were successfully intercepted, but regrettably not all. As of now, two people have been reported killed in this attack. My condolences to their families and loved ones. More than ten people have been injured.
The main target of the strike was the energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipro – generation facilities and substations. There is damage in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kyiv, and Kherson regions. In Kramatorsk, a drone struck a State Emergency Service building. The situation in the capital is difficult — many buildings remain without heating.
Life must be better protected from these strikes. The most effective defense against Russian ballistic missiles is Patriot systems, and missiles for these systems must be supplied every single day. I thank all the countries contributing to the PURL initiative. Everything currently available in the program regarding air defense must be delivered faster. I am grateful to the leaders who understand this and are helping.
