On November 26, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Tajikistan Vasyl V. Servatiuk met with the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (House of Representatives) of Majlisi Oli (the Supreme Assembly, the Parliament) of the Republic of Tajikistan Mahmadtoir Zohirzoda.

The Majlisi Namoyandagon, the lower House of the Parliament of Tajikistan, is directly elected for a 5-year term and consists of 63 members, 41 of whom are elected in majority districts and 22 from party lists.

The Majlisi Namoyandagon created a Group of friendship with Ukraine. The Tajik Side expressed hope for the formation of a similar friendship group in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the near future.

 During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of activating the inter-parliamentary dialogue, activities within the framework of the parliamentary assemblies of international organizations.
