On this occasion, staff of the Embassy, as well as distinguished guests, representatives of the media, and the Ukrainian community gathered at the diplomatic mission. After the welcoming speech of Ambassador Vasyl Servatyuk, a solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to Taras Shevchenko, which was installed in the courtyard of the Embassy, took place. This monument was previously located near the pedagogical Institute of the city of Dushanbe, which until 1991 was named after Taras Shevchenko, and was restored by the efforts of the Embassy. Among the guests of the Embassy was a citizen of Turkmenistan Atamurat, who performed popular songs in Ukrainian. The audience watched a video shot by journalists of the influential Avesta newspaper, in which foreign ambassadors and well-known tajikistans uttered congratulatory words on the occasion of the Ukrainian state holiday.
