On November 24 in the Ukrainian Embassy in Tajikistan an event to mark the Day of Memory of the Victims of Holodomor was held.
The representatives of the Ukrainian Diaspora, Tajik public and the Diplomatic Corps took part in the event dedicated to the 85-th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933.
During the event, the guests were presented an exhibition of materials «We were killed, because we are Ukrainians», which were provided by the National Museum «Memorial to the Victims of the Holodomor», which they spectaculated listening to the music of Miroslav Skoryk «Requiem» (melody for violin).
Chargé d'affaires a.i. of Ukraine to the Republic of Tajikistan Viktor V. Semenov addressed the audience with an introductory speech and presented the text of the Address of the President of Ukraine to the Ukrainian People and Ukrainians in the world in connection with the Day of Memory of the Victims of Holodomors, after which the first secretary Ihor P. Cherinko told the guests the main historical moments concerning with the artificial famine.
Those present lit candles and honored the memory of Ukrainians who died during the Genocide of 1932-1933, with a minute of silence.
