In previous years, monuments commemorating the Tajik liquidators of the Chornobyl accident were built in the cities of Norak, Khujand and Kulob.

Representatives of local authorities, Union of Disabled People of Chornobyl of Tajikistan, Ambassadors of the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine took part in the opening ceremony of the memorial.

Addressing the audience, Ukrainian Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan Viktor Nikitiuk stated that Ukrainians will always remember the deed of the Tajik liquidators of the consequences of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant accident.
