On November 20, 2014 Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Tajikistan Viktor Nikitiuk took part in the closing ceremony of the conference “Border security: globalization and challenges in migration sphere” at the OSCE Border Management College in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan.
The conference was attended by 30 representatives from 18 OSCE participating states (Armenia, Belarus, B&H, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, FYRM, Mongolia, Poland, RF, Romania, Spain, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine) and 3 OSCE cooperation partners (Afghanistan and Tunisia) representing researches and practitioners in the sphere of providing border security.
Addressing the participants the Ambassador of Ukraine appreciated the activities of the OSCE Border Management College, stressed the importance of the problem of proper protection and management of state borders, expressed his gratitude to the Tajik authorities for their comprehensive support of this unique OSCE institution.
College leadership praised professional level and contribution of Ukrainian participants – Yurij Demjaniuk, professor, National Academy of State Border Service, and Lieutenant-Colonel Mykhailo Myroshnychenko, assistant chief of detachment, Lviv Border Detachment, who were warmly welcomed at the Embassy of Ukraine.
