April 24 marks the 28th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Tajikistan.
During this period, bilateral relations between our countries have been actively developing on the basis of friendship, mutual respect and constructive dialogue.
Ukrainian enterprises have been and are actively involved in the construction of the Rogun HPP, which is intended to become the most powerful hydroelectric facility in the Republic of Tajikistan.
The legal framework of Ukrainian-Tajik relations includes more than 80 agreements, the main of which is The agreement on friendship and cooperation concluded in 2001.
At the present stage, our relations are reaching a new qualitative level, and there is a significant activation of the Ukrainian-Tajik dialogue. We would like to note with pleasure that already in 2020 political consultations were held between Ukraine and the Republic of Tajikistan at the level of heads of relevant structural divisions of the ministries of foreign Affairs (February 4, 2017), as well as the Fifth meeting of the Joint intergovernmental Ukrainian-Tajik Commission on economic cooperation (March 3-4, 2017). The restoration of the work of our Joint Commission after a seven-year pause has demonstrated mutual interest and readiness to significantly enhance the partnership between Ukraine and the Republic of Tajikistan in the economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The Ukrainian side highly values the state of our relations and is ready to further implement concrete actions aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in the economic, political, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
